Ordnance Factory Medak conducts annual flotation trials of Infantry Combat Vehicles in Sangareddy

Ordnance Factory Medak successfully conducted annual flotation trials of Infantry Combat Vehicles (BMP-II and its variants), indigenously manufactured at its Yeddumailaram facility in Sangareddy on Friday.

The trials were held at Malkapur Lake (Pedda Cheruvu) under the supervision of chief general manager S.S. Prasad in the presence of officials from various departments. The flotation trials, conducted annually, validated the amphibious capability and terrain-handling performance of Infantry Combat Vehicles (ICVs), ensuring their reliability in diverse battlefield conditions.

Ordnance Factory Medak, established in 1984, is a premium manufacturing unit equipped with state-of-the-art technology for producing a wide range of Infantry Combat Vehicles, including BMP-II, IIK, CMT, AERV, AAT, CCPT, NBCRV and other specialised variants deployed by the Indian Army. The factory also produced and supplied CRN-91 (for Naval applications), MPV/MMPVs, and Bullet-Proof vehicles to various paramilitary forces and State Police departments, said a press release.
