Hyderabad: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will participate in the GOAT India Tour event showcasing football icon Lionel Messi at the RGI Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday evening, according to Telangana Congress insiders.
An exhibition match will pit Singareni RR9 against Aparna-Messi All Stars in a 15-20 minute encounter, with Chief Minister, an avid football follower, joining Messi five minutes prior to kickoff for a joint ball-dribbling display.
Gandhi is scheduled to arrive via special flight at 4.30 PM, heading straight to the Taj Falaknuma Palace Hotel, Messi’s lodging.
Post-match, he will depart for Delhi by 10.30 PM.
Extensive security measures are in place at the RGI Cricket Stadium venue.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu announced the deployment of 3,000 personnel for the occasion.
