District Congress Committee (DCC) president and Telangana Government Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) chairperson T. Nirmala Jagga Reddy on Saturday felicitated newly elected Sarpanches, ward members and Upa-Sarpanches who secured victories in the Sangareddy Assembly constituency at a programme held at a constituency-level meeting in Sangareddy.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president T. Jagga Reddy also felicitated Congress candidates who were defeated in the elections, acknowledging their efforts and commitment in strengthening the party at the grassroots level. It said that Congress-backed candidates had won in 45 Gram Panchayats in the constituency.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Jagga Reddy said the victories were achieved through unity, strength and dedication, despite his absence from the campaign.

Clarifying the party’s stand, Mr. Jagga Reddy said there would be no entry into the Congress for candidates who contested and won as rebels. However, he said independent candidates who emerged victorious could join the party after a decision by the Block Congress and Mandal Congress leadership.

On the occasion, he announced that Masku Alavani Narasimha Reddy, who was defeated in the Kondapur sarpanch election, would be appointed as chairman of the Sadashivapet Market Committee.
