Skoda Slavia facelift spotted testing again before its launch

A lightly camouflaged testing model of the upcoming Skoda Slavia facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads. The compact sedan, which was launched in India in 2022, is set for a mid-lifecycle update in 2026, and the latest test car images give a clearer glimpse of the updated design.

Starting at the front, the trademark Skoda butterfly grille sees a new design, while the lighting elements inside the headlights have been revised. The bumper design is new, with a new central air vent, and fog lamps are also visible on the bumper. Viewed from the side, there are no significant changes visible; the sedan has a sharp shoulder line throughout its length as before. Meanwhile, the design of the alloy wheels looks new and the black finish suggests that it could be in the Sportline or Monte Carlo variants.

At the rear, the changes are expected to include some changes in the rear bumper design as well as the lighting elements.

In terms of features, this facelift is expected to help Skoda compete with some of its more feature-rich competitors like the Hyundai Verna. The upgrade may include a new infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and other features. Although ADAS technology is also expected, the testing model shown here does not show any sensor module or camera for it on the front.

In terms of powertrain, the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engine pair is expected to continue, and both are likely to be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options.

The facelifted Slavia is expected to be launched in India in 2026 and will rival the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the VW Virtus – currently the best-selling car in the segment, which is also due for a facelift next year.
