BHPian purohitanuj recently shared this with other enthusiasts:730Km In A Single Day In 134% SOCHad to run for few meetings from Gurugram to Sikar and then to Jaipur.HighlightsTotal drive of 736km in 13 hours736KM in 134% = 550KM of range for (476km) highways + (260km) expressway travel2 charging breaks. 1 for 30 mins(34%) and other for ~20 mins(19%).Reached home with 20% SOC hence the second charging break was not utilised in the tripOverall average speeds around 60km/hr with efficiency of 7.6km/kWh~257km from Jaipur to Gurgaon with average speeds locked at 90km/hrUsed heater in the early morning ( ~8c ) and aircon throughout the day (30-34c)Left around 4:50am as I had a meeting to attend at 11am near Sikar I had planned to have a quick breakfast on the way with a Xobolt 60KW gun. Reached as per plan by 8:20AM. This was around 200km from my home. During the above drive, the ambient temperature was hovering around 7c hence I had used the heater set at 26c One of the most reliable CPOs in the north. With Autocharge enabled, I just plugged the gun and charging started in few seconds. No drama. Topped up to 93% in 34 mins. Mind it all of this time was spent on breakfast as it was the limiting factor Ready to roll by 8:57am Reached destination by 10:30am as per the plan. This was 269km from start and used SOC was 52%. A healthy 517KM of range considering the lower temps and the use of heater.A special mention here about XEVDuring my MRV visit, Mahindra showcased a heat scavenging system for the MBEVs to rely less on the PTC heater. I think that system works well and the efficiency did not plummet like it does in other EVs and owner don’t want to use heater unless absolutely necessary. I found that with heater, the efficiency goes down by 1km/kWh when compared to Aircon (cooling) in hash summers. The system can redirect the heat from the motors to the battery / cabin and use the PTC heater on top of that system as and when required. Left by 1PM and switched to power saving mode as the MDR category road was not even allowing me to cross 80km/hr. As my next meeting was in Jaipur scheduled around 5:00PM, I used some time in had to have a quick lunch at 2:40pm. Planned to stop at a restaurant with another 60KW Xobolt gun. Topped up 19% in 21mins and mind it that this is the slowest DC charging speeds we are talking about around just 44kW. Again the food was the limiting factor. I generally order items which are the fastest to arrive when I am driving solo for work. Ready to roll by 3PM with 83% SOC. 103km in 17% = 605KM of range for this leg. Reached Jaipur by 4:40PM with 72% SOC. This leg was for 74km and used 10% SOC. A healthy 740KM range. Left for Gurgaon by 7:30pm and reached home by 10:40pm. On expressway, the car was locked to 90km/hr with smart pilot on. 174KM leg locked at 90km/hr still gave efficiency of 7.3km/kWh From Jaipur onwards, the average speed which I was able to maintain considering city commute was around 81km/hr which is also very healthy. The stats of complete trip I had done 2 topups during the day. 1st with Breakfast as 34% SOC topup 2nd with Lunch as 19% SOC topup As I reached by 19% SOC, hence the total consumption for the trip was 134% Hence 736KM in 134% = 550KM of range including use to heater / AC with expressway travel locked at 90km/hr with 0 regen supportCheck out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
