Truck driver killed in Nizamabad over personal rivalry

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old truck driver from Uttar Pradesh was bludgeoned to death by a group of other truck drivers over a personal rivalry at Indalwai in Nizamabad on Tuesday.Md Salman, a native of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, died at around 5.30 pm after he and his brother stopped their truck to have tea at an HP petrol pump near Dev Tanda in Indalwai. A group of four assailants following Salman in another truck pulled up nearby and attacked him.“They launched an unprovoked attack on Salman with iron rods. He collapsed on the spot with a severe head injury. He was declared brought dead at a local hospital,” Nizamabad police said.Salman’s brother fled to escape from the assailants. After Salman collapsed, the four accused, Md Ahmed, Md Hasan, Md Idril and Md Kaif, got into their truck and fled.The accused abandoned their truck a few kilometres away and fled from the spot. Police booked a murder case and launched a man hunt to nab them.
