The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday (December 18, 2025) arrested two government officials in separate cases in Nirmal and Khammam districts for demanding and accepting bribes for official favours.
In the first case, G. Bheemanna, Senior Assistant at the Primary Health Centre Basara and in charge of PHC in Thanur mandal of Bhainsa, Nirmal district, was trapped by the ACB Adilabad range. Officials said he demanded and accepted ₹9,000 through PhonePe from a complainant at his residence in NB Nagar, Bhainsa, for preparing General Provident Fund (GPF), surrender leave and Fixed Travelling Allowance (FTA) bills and for processing medical reimbursement bills.
In a separate incident earlier in the day, Vusa Subha Kameshwari, Revenue Inspector at the office of the Tahsildar, Karepalli mandal in Khammam district, was trapped by the ACB Khammam range. She demanded and accepted ₹10,000 from a complainant at her residence in Karepalli for verification, attestation and forwarding of a family member certificate required for mutation of land records. The tainted amount was recovered from her possession.
Both the officials were arrested and produced before the special courts for SPE and ACB cases at Karimnagar and Warangal respectively. Further investigations are underway, and the identities of the complainants have been withheld for security reasons.
The ACB reiterated that members of the public can report demands for bribes by public servants through the toll free number 1064. Complaints can also be made via WhatsApp at 9440446106 or through the bureau’s official social media platforms.
