Roads & Buildings special chief secretary Vikas Raj directed the officials concerned and the contracting firm to adhere to the timeline set for the completion of the new High Court complex taken up at Rajendranagar.
Mr. Vikas Raj along with the Chief Engineers and other senior officials inspected the site on Wednesday. Representatives of D.E.C Infrastructure Projects, the contracting firm accompanied the official team which assessed the pace, sequencing and quality of works. The special chief secretary informed about the timelines finalised for completion of various components of the project.
The New High Court Buildings Complex, a flagship judicial infrastructure initiative of the State government, was sanctioned at a cost of ₹2,583 crore with a total built-up area of 36.52 lakh square feet. Of the sanctioned amount, ₹1,980 crore has been earmarked for civil, electrical and MEP works, while ₹603 crore has been earmarked for furniture and operative equipment.
Mr. Vikas Raj instructed the consultants to submit detailed construction drawings well in advance to facilitate mobilisation of manpower, materials and machinery and to prevent time and cost overruns. The Chief Engineer (Buildings), consultants and the contractor were directed to jointly prepare a comprehensive programme for completion of the project while the officials were instructed to closely monitor progress through regular reviews.
The contractor was asked to accelerate execution to meet the milestones and the consultants were directed to finalise revised plans in consultation with judicial authorities for securing approvals without delay. The Chief Engineer (Buildings) was asked to expedite all statutory clearances, including forest clearances for Zone-2 areas.
He wanted close collaboration among the department, consultants and contractor to recover delays arising from design changes and ensure timely completion of the project.
