Vijaywada’s Kanaka Durga Temple to go digital soon on TTD model, online darshan and seva bookings announced | Hyderabad News

Online services will soon be introduced at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam better known as Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada. The management of the temple announced that online services for darshan slotting and other services on the lines offered by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will be started soon for the convenience of devotees.

The temple’s Executive Officer V K Seena Naik said that darshan bookings, prasadam purchases, parking slots, seva tokens, donations etc will be made available online through the website http://www.aptemple.org and ‘Mana Mitra’ app. Some of the online services were tested on newly launched ‘Bhavani Deeksha 2025’ mobile app, which offered real-time updates on darshan timings during the during the week-long Bhavani Deeksha Viramana festivities.

“There was a good and positive response to the app and it helped devotees a lot. We are planning to roll out more online services soon,’” Naik said, adding that the temple is attracting huge crowds these days and more and more people are undertaking the Bhavani Deeksha. Officials said that while on weekdays, the temple is witnessing about 14-15,000 devotees, on festivals and weekends it is doubling.

“Many a time devotees have to wait for several hours for darshan if they come without prior booking. With online bookings and slots reserved, we can reduced the time and ensure smooth darshan to as many devotees as possible,’’ Naik said.

Officals said during the Bhavani Deeksha, nearly 7 lakh devotees had darshan at the temple.
