The news of Pawan Kalyan gifting a Land Rover Defender to Sujeeth, the director of “OG”, has generated considerable buzz in Tollywood. While many assumed the gift was a celebration of the film’s blockbuster success, the real story behind the gesture is far more compelling.
During the final stages of “AND”, the team felt the need for a crucial schedule in Japan to give the film a complete and authentic finish. However, due to budget constraints, the producers were unable to approve the overseas shoot. Firmly believing those scenes were vital, director Sujeeth made a bold decision: he sold his own Land Rover Defender to fund the abroad schedule himself.
He later filmed the sequences in Bangkok using these funds.
Pawan Kalyan came to know about this extraordinary sacrifice during the dubbing phase. Deeply moved by Sujeeth’s commitment, passion, and sense of responsibility towards “OG”, the actor decided to gift him the same model of car he had sold for the film.
As a further gesture of appreciation, Pawan Kalyan will also be taking care of the vehicle’s EMIs.
Released amid huge expectations, “OG” lived up to the hype and emerged as a major success.
