“Babies 2” has completed its first week in theatres and entered its second, but the box office numbers remain underwhelming. The film saw a sharp drop after its first Monday, with collections tapering off significantly through the week.
The Hindi version, in particular, failed to make an impact. It did not even cross the Rs 1 crore mark in its entire first week across India, indicating that the film has not managed to draw North Indian audiences to theatres. Despite this, Balakrishna has continued to actively promote the film in North India.
On Friday, the actor visited Varanasi along with director Boyapati Srinu and offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Speaking on the occasion, Balakrishna stated that audiences have appreciated the film’s message centred on Sanathana Dharma.
“Akhanda 2” is the sequel to the blockbuster Akhanda. While the original film emerged as a major commercial success, the sequel has failed to replicate that momentum and is heading towards significant losses.
