Boundaries must never come in the way of effective policing, said Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar on Wednesday (December 17, 2025) and directed officers to strictly implement a ‘Zero Delay’ policy to ensure immediate response to crimes and swift relief to victims.

The directive was issued during a coordination meeting of the Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda police commissionerates held at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre in Banjara Hills. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Sajjanar and attended by Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty and Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu, along with senior officers from the three commissionerates.

Addressing the gathering, the official said criminals increasingly exploit jurisdictional gaps by committing offences in one area and taking shelter in another. He warned that any delay caused by confusion over territorial limits could allow offenders to escape. “There should be no communication gap between field-level personnel. Regardless of where a crime occurs, the nearest police unit must respond immediately without debating jurisdiction,” he stated.

“When criminals do not respect borders, the police should not either,” Mr. Sajjanar said, adding that the ultimate objective was a safer Hyderabad through technology-driven policing and unified action. He warned that there would be no leniency for those disturbing law and order, regardless of where they attempt to hide.

Commissioner Mohanty said the rapid expansion of the IT Corridor and Financial District made seamless coordination and integration of CCTV networks essential for tracking criminal movements in real time. Rachakonda Police Commissioner Babu proposed the formation of joint teams to tackle organised crime and illegal activities such as ganja smuggling, emphasising that intelligence sharing remained the backbone of effective urban policing.

The Meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes) M. Srinivasulu, Joint Commissioners Tafseer Iqubal, D. Joel Davis and Gajarao Bhupal, and Deputy Commissioners of Police of Police from all three commissionerates.
