Gurgaon to Jaipur via NE-4 in my Innova Crysta: Quick trip review BHPian cars4eva recently shared this with other enthusiasts: I had the pleasure of going in my Toyota Innova Crysta from Gurgaon to Jaipur in the month of August. This is when the new expressway section of Bandikui had just opened to the public. I started around 8:30 AM from Gurgaon, topped up the diesel and let the mighty roar of the Innova whisk me away to the Expressway. Fortunately, there wasn’t too much traffic leading to the expressway and could reach there without encountering traffic snarls. Since the total time showed us about 4.5 hours, we had already begun looking for a spot to stop by for breakfast. After a little bit of research, we realized that stopping at Old Rao Hotel at the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway , Pinan, Alwar. We reached there and had breakfast. It is quite a popular spot to stop, as it was full. The washrooms at this location are decent and can be used without any concerns. Our order took a bit of time to get made, but we used that time to take in the hustle and bustle in the outlet. We once again took off and set the Android Auto maps to our final location. I had my phone always connected by wire on the USB port and didn’t face any heating issues in my phone. The expressway is truly wonderful, and we were cruising at a speed of 120 Kmph without any drama. The engine was able to handle these speeds effortlessly, with the Auto gearbox in its highest gear, we were under 2000 RPM. Now that is effortless indeed. When it was time for an overtake, the car has so much power to fly past other vehicles on the road, it makes one feel powerful. It’s a great sensation knowing that your vehicle has that kind of power waiting for your throttle input. 148 bhp and 360 nm of torque to quote the specs. The Innova Crysta automatic is known for its great highway stability, and it does not disappoint. No sudden jerks from any gear changes, no sensation of high-speed thanks in part to the well-made expressway. The only times we slowed down was at toll booths where the Fast Tag worked well, and during entry to the Jaipur city itself. The Bandikui section of the expressway was a first for us and was very convenient to use. We had set Google Maps to use this route, and it led us to it correctly. It’s smooth and is a great stretch of tarmac to avoid traffic which we otherwise would have encountered had we taken an alternate route. Onto the car itself, it is a 2021 Innova Crysta Automatic Diesel. We didn’t have too much luggage, and the captain seats are such a joy to be in. We made sure we were wearing seatbelts at the back as well. I had always read a lot about the comfort of sitting in captain seats, but it’s only when you are seated in them that you realize they are a boon to be in. The aircon worked well to ensure the temperatures on the outside weren’t of any concern to us. We kept it around 25 degrees Celsius with the fan speed at about 2 or 3 so there wasn’t much fan noise either. There are also certain sections of the expressway which have been recently repaired, and boy, you can’t even hear the tire noise on them. It’s that silent. We ended up getting a mileage of about 15 km per litre as per the MID. Next time, I’ll be sure to take some pics of my journey to help anyone who plans to travel along this route.
