The made-in-India Suzuki Baleno has been awarded a 2-star rating by Latin NCAP. The hatchback scored 79% for adult occupant protection and 65% for child occupant protection. The car offered good protection to the head and neck of the driver and passenger in the frontal impact test. Their chest showed adequate protection, while their knees and tibias showed marginal protection. The head, abdomen and pelvis protection was rated as good in the side pole impact test, while chest and abdomen protection was adequate. The Baleno offered full protection to the 1.5-year-old and 3-year-old child dummies, preventing head exposure. Both dummies showed full protection in the side impact test. The test car was equipped with 6 airbags, seatbelt pretensioner and load limiter, seatbelt reminder, ESC and ISOFIX. Latin NCAP also tested the Baleno equipped with dual airbags. It was awarded a 1-star rating.
