50+ Bhp Yamaha RZ 350: Why this RZ scares me more than a Busa BHPian SnS_12 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:The RZ with 50+ bhp is a power wheelie monsterI was on my way to Tony’s to pick up the Daytona and leave the RZ for its annual service when at a signal, as soon as the lights turned green, and I gave it a little extra gas and without any warning the front wheel came up and how. I have accelerated hard on the Busa and 848 and also on my other two strokes, but nothing behaved so wildly and scared the shit out of me like the RZ. Folks who haven’t experienced a powerful two-stroke would be like How can a Busa rider be scared of a 350, But to be scared of the power and capabilities of this monster is what keeps one safe because things can go south in an instant, as it’s a very unforgiving bike, especially if you enter the power band without being prepared for it. So, always have a mental note that if I take the RZ for granted even for a split second, I will be instant dead meat. Coming to the Daytona, I rode it back home post-service in peak traffic, and the bike started acting up again, struggling to climb the podium parking, and I finally managed to ride it up after a few failed attempts on its own power. Took it for its maiden spin today to SOBO (South Bombay), and the problem disappeared again, and I guess it doesn’t like being ridden slow and in traffic. The Daytona was a crowd puller and ended up making some new friends on today’s ride. It’s been a long and tiring day as I rode three bikes back to back between 8 am to 2 pm, and I finally rode the RD 200 as well, post its monsoon hibernation, and dropped it off for service. That thing is also a proper pocket rocket after the clutch plates replacement. With the last few days left before I head off on vacation, trying to get as much saddle time on all my bikes, and while I hate getting up early morning and it takes a toll on the body, the weather and the wild experience on each motorcycle totally make up for all of it. The Daytona definitely pulled a larger crowd than the RZ, maybe thanks to its shiny exhaust?? I sure created a racket on my way to Tony’s place. The 200 is so much fun in such a small package. Brake pads are wearing down nicely Condition of the engine oil. Fresh brake oil Bleeding out the old oil Back home with fresh fluids to wake up the streets of Mumbai Break in ride for my Dainese Atipica Air 2, which I had purchased in February 2024 from Singapore. Used them after 22 months of purchase and straight on Day 1 they were tested on three different bikes.
