Crime cases in the Cyberabad Commissionerate recorded a marginal decline in 2025, with total cognisable offences dropping from 37,689 cases in 2024 to 37,243 this year, a reduction of 1.18%, according to the annual round-up report released by the Police on Tuesday (December 23, 2025).
Increase in crimes against women
Despite the overall drop, property offences made up 15% of crimes, up from 12% in 2024, followed by road accidents, which accounted for 12% of cases, up from 10% in 2024. Crimes against women marginally increased from 8% to 9%. Cybercrime continued to form the single largest category of offences at 21%, though its share declined substantially from 32% in 2024.
Police officials attributed the marginal overall reduction to increased surveillance, focused enforcement drives and the use of technology in detection and prevention.
Sharp decline in cybercrimes
Cybercrime cases saw the sharpest drop among all categories, falling from 11,914 cases in 2024 to 7,636 cases in 2025, marking a reduction of 35.9%.
