Indian cinema has a new number-one blockbuster of 2025, and it is “Dhurandhar.” By the end of its third week in theatres, the film has amassed a staggering Rs 870 crore gross worldwide, firmly securing the top position at the box office.
Until recently, Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara: Chapter 1” held the crown as the year’s biggest hit. However, Dhurandhar’s phenomenal box-office run has seen it surge past the film with ease. Going by its current momentum, the Ranveer Singh–starrer is expected to cross the Rs 1000 crore mark by the end of this month, making it the only Indian film to achieve this milestone in 2025 and placing it among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
In a remarkable achievement, “Dhurandhar” collected nearly Rs 100 crore in its third weekend alone, setting a new record for an Indian film.
The film’s sustained run has been driven primarily by extraordinary word-of-mouth, with collections picking up sharply after the first three days and showing no signs of slowing down.
Apart from Ranveer Singh’s commanding performance, Akshaye Khanna’s menacing turn as the antagonist has emerged as a major talking point. The film also marks the debut of Sara Arjun as the female lead, adding another highlight to its success story.
