Kawasaki has updated the Ninja 650 for the 2026 model year in India, which is now priced at Rs 7.91 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to the 2025 model, the price of this new model has increased by Rs.14,000. Considering the new price, the update is quite minor. Ninja 650 will be available in Lime Green color only in the Indian market, along with this new graphics have also been added to it.

The biggest change is seen below the bodywork. Kawasaki has updated the 649 cc parallel-twin engine to meet E20 emission standards. Apart from this upgrade, there are no mechanical changes in the engine and it still produces 67 bhp and 62.1 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The parts and components of the bicycle have also remained unchanged. The Ninja 650 has the same inverted front fork and rear monoshock suspension as before, it rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, and for braking, it has dual-channel ABS with twin 300 mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear.
Adhering to E20 standards is a necessary and welcome move, but the MY26 update feels conservative overall. Given the higher price tag, the Ninja 650 should have had more meaningful updates or at least additional color options, especially when there is already a wide range of darker and more subdued colors available in international markets.
