4,000 km in just 2 months with my BE6: List of pros & cons

4,000 km in just 2 months with my BE6: List of pros & cons BHPian raghinayak recently shared this with other enthusiasts: My first post in Team-BHP and this thread. First of all, a big thanks to the community here – the discussions and ownership threads were instrumental in helping me decide on the BE.6. After two months and over 4,000 km of driving, I wanted to share a quick summary of my experience so far.Key StatsTotal distance covered: ~4,000 kmUsage: Mostly highway drives, 6-7 long tripsRange: Around 450 km on highways when at 100Kmph around 380-400 KM when at higher speeds, and 500+ km in the cityPositivesDriving this car has been an absolute joy – effortless power delivery and incredible smoothness. Once you adapt to one-pedal driving, there’s truly no going back. The ambient lighting dramatically enhances night drives – the cabin feels futuristic.Instant torque makes every overtaking situation stress-free.Most of the tech features perform just as promised. The Heads-Up Display (HUD) is genuinely useful and helps in keeping focus on the road.NegativesEncountered intermittent Android Auto freezing, which sometimes makes the central console unresponsive. I was unable to use maps when on a trip which was a bummerThe start/stop button once failed to respond (luckily, it happened in my parking lot and resolved automatically after a few minutes). The me4U app struggles to access secure 360 feed at times.ADAS can be overly cautious – during reversing, it occasionally triggers abrupt braking even if an object is several feet away. The suspension in default mode feels on the firmer side; range mode seems a bit better. The inbuilt dashcam has yet to record anything – even after a light bumper impact. It was claimed that dashcam records abrupt braking and similar situation but it doesnt seem to be working for me. Not sure if others face this. I decided to install a dashcam separately which was also very tricky. BE6 seems to have stable power output only through USBC. The USBA port behind the dashboard is unstable. I had to order a special USBA cable from Red Tiger to get mine working, as it came with 12V cigarette lighter port which is missing in the front side of the car.Software Wish ListAbility to retain default settings (drive mode, audio, AC) on every start.Integration of work apps like Microsoft Teams – would make handling work calls on the move seamless.Accessories & Practical NotesInstalling mud flaps was definitely worth it; before that, a lot of dirt accumulated along the sides. Additionally I installed the sun film on the windshield externally from 3M, which is super helpful as well Home Charger Installation Experience Installation through Mahindra was straightforward. However, dealing with BESCOM for load enhancement was quite painful. The cost quoted for raising my sanctioned load from 3 kW to 10 kW was unexpectedly high. On advice from a family friend (a long-time EV owner), I decided to stick with the existing load and cap the charging power at 5 kW – which suits my use case since I also have access to workplace charging. For those interested, here’s his YouTube explanation that helped me make the choice: Since the charger is newly installed, I’ll be monitoring the increased load pull fine implications and share the details once I have the bill later this month I also wanted to check if there are any BE.6 owners’ groups or communities on WhatsApp or other platforms. Would love to stay connected and actively participate in owner discussions, meetups or group drives around Bangalore. Read BHPian comments for more insights and information.
