HYDERABAD: A deputy transport commissioner working in Mahabubnagar district was arrested by the ACB on Tuesday for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The bureau declared the value of his assets as ₹12 crore, but its market value is expected to be many times higher.The official was identified as Kishan. His assets include 50% share in a hotel in Nizamabad, ownership of 3,000 sq yards where a furniture company has set up its business, two flats in Nizamabad, 31 acres of agricultural land under Nizampet tahsildar limits, 10 acres of commercial land within Nizamabad municipal limits, and a polyhouse and shed spread over 4,000 sq ft in Nizampet mandal of Sangareddy district.
Officials found bank deposits of 1.37 crore, gold ornaments weighing 1 kg, a Honda City and an Innova Crysta. “The documented value of movable and immovable properties calculated so far is ₹12.72 crore. The market value is expected to be much higher. Further verification is underway and the case remains under investigation,” ACB officials said.A case was registered against Kishan under the Prevention of Corruption Act, ACB officials said.
