BHPian 100Kmphormore recently shared this with other enthusiasts:Neugo Electric Bus ExperienceHave to say, the experience was quite good. I was apprehensive of travelling in bus after the recent accident near AP and am averse to travelling in buses in general, but this was a very comfortable experience. It was an experience due, and for me it was a good one. They provided small water bottles and we could take extra if needed. The bus we took to Tirupati was a bit old/due for service perhaps and it showed in the general experience. While the general ride quality wasnt as busy as say a non electric semi-AC sleeper, the suspension felt a bit bouncy, even in the city section from Silk Board to KR pura or the cement highways post Mulbagal. But it was on time and the seats were comfortable. There was a stop of around 40 mins for breakfast at Kala Grand 20 km before Chittoor while the bus had its fill too of 30% charge. Even had a short nap for an hour and it felt worth the money we had paid. The return journey was in a better bus, rather brand new to say the least. No rattles or suspension wallowing. There was this digital display that indicated 64:06 to 69:06 (could anyone input as to what this is?). Stop was for dinner at the same place and again 30% charged to 95%. This experience has me a convert for considering a electric, like the Harrier EV or XEV 9E for an upgrade to our family Scorpio, if the charging experience is like this. 300 km of real world highway range across varied driving conditions (sedate, pedal to metal, coasting etc) is more than enough especially for family travel. Solo like me though may look for a longer range though, say 450 km. The buses got a max of 60 KwH charging rate and the drivers say a full 100% is required due to AC for the 270 km journey that too with double charging guns. The silence though a positive, missed the “feel” factor if you know what I mean, additionally it felt a bit slow – 100 kmph would have been the sweet spot, which was what most Volvo multi axles were doing. An engine sound accustoms you to the sound of a horn – everytime he honked, it was loud enough to startle some from their snoozing and the brake whooshes was loud too. Overall, another option of travel that I wouldnt miss if I didnt have an option. Check outBHPian commentsfor more insights and information.
