Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the people’s government is making large-scale investments in the education sector to make students globally competitive and create valuable human resources.
Creation of human capital is key to generate substantial wealth for the State and achieve the goal of catapulting Telangana into a three trillion-dollar economy by 2047, he noted.
Mr. Vikramarka held a review meeting with senior officials at the Integrated District Offices Complex (IDOC) in Khammam on Wednesday.
He said diet charges have been increased by 40% to ensure quality food in government hostels and a special menu has been designed. Through nutritious food, the government aims to ensure good health for students and build strong human capital.
Adequate facilities are being provided in government, local bodies and all residential schools. Mess and cosmetic bills pending for years are being cleared regularly, he noted.
He said public welfare is the sole objective of the government and negligence by officials and staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances as the government has entered its third year. Everyone must remain accountable to the public, he insisted.
He made it clear that if any incident occurs in government or private educational institutions, the concerned in-charge officer will be held responsible.
He instructed that a checklist of mandatory qualifications and facilities be prepared for private educational institutions and permissions should be granted only if all requirements are met. Collector Anudeep Durishetty and others were present.
Later, the Deputy CM made a surprise inspection of the Tribal Welfare Girls’ Gurukul College at Tanikella in Konijerla mandal and interacted with students.
