This year, five Indian films surpassed the Rs. 500 crore gross mark, including Chhaava, Saiyaara, Coolie, Kantara: Chapter 1, and Dhurandhar. Bollywood dominated the year, and Dhurandhar is the highest-grossing film in 2025, with approximately Rs. 900 crores, and the film is expected to add more to its collection tally.
Kantara: Chapter 1, headlined and directed by Rishab Shetty, is the second-highest-grossing Indian film of the year with about Rs. 850 crores gross. The movie created an all-time record in its home turf, Karnataka. Chhaava, the biographical film of Sambhaji Maharaj, headlined by Vicky Kaushal, earned approximately Rs. 800 crores and is the third highest grosser of 2025.
Saiyaara and Coolie occupied the fourth and fifth spots with Rs . 579 crores gross and Rs. 515 crores gross, respectively. Three films of Bollywood made it to the top five, whereas Kollywood and Sandalwood earned a spot each.
