Six arrested as excise officials seize over 2.7 kg ganja in Dhoolpet and Secunderabad

Six persons were arrested in separate operations carried out by the State Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department in Hyderabad on Wednesday (December 24), seizing 2.718 kilograms of ganja.

The largest seizure was made in Dhoolpet, where STF-A team booked two cases and recovered 2.466 kilograms of ganja.

Following a tip-off, the team conducted raids at two locations linked to alleged ganja sales. In the first case, the police raided an area near Shiva Mandir in Dhoolpet and seized 1.212 kilograms of ganja. Rajesh was arrested in connection with the case, while another accused, Abhishek Singh, remains at large.

A raid was then carried out at a house, leading to the seizure of 1.254 kilograms of the banned substance. Malabai and Kripal Singh were arrested, while Baldev Singh is absconding. Both cases have been handed over to the Dhoolpet police station for further investigation.

In a separate operation, following a tip-off about ganja consumption in the area, STF-B team conducted a raid near the Blue Sea Hotel in Secunderabad and seized 252 grams of ganja.

Three persons, identified as Binesh, Pawan and Narsar, were arrested, while another accused, Ghaus Pasha, is absconding.

Four mobile phones were also seized from the accused. They were handed over to the Marredpally excise station for further investigation.
