Unlicensed medical device manufacturing unit busted in Hyderabad


The Telangana Drugs Control Administration raided an unlicensed medical device unit at Sultanpur in Sangareddy district and seized large stocks of dialysis kits and sterile products. The unit was operating without a mandatory manufacturing licence, officials said.

Unlicensed medical device manufacturing unit busted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Drugs Control Administration (TGDCA) busted an unlicensed medical device manufacturing unit, Mediblue Healthcare Private Limited, at Medical Devices Park, Sultanpur, Sangareddy district.

Acting on credible information, the TGDCA inspecting teams conducted raids on the premises of Mediblue Healthcare at M59 and detected unlicensed manufacturing of Risk Class B medical devices, including dialysis kits (sterile EO), sterile surgical gowns, and sterile eye drapes.


Huge stocks of medical devices manufactured and stocked for sale were seized. The seized stocks are classified as Medical Devices under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, and mandatorily be manufactured under a Medical Devices Manufacturing Licence issued under the said Act, TGDCA, DG, Shahnawaz Qasims said.

The public can report complaints regarding illegal activities related to medicines, as well as any other suspected manufacturing activities concerning drugs, including narcotic and psychotropic substances, to Toll-Free Number 1800-599-6969, operational from 10.30 am to 5 pm on all working days.
