Members of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s women’s wing staged a demonstration in Karimnagar on Tuesday (December 23, 2025) demanding the ouster of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for “pulling down” a Muslim female doctor’s hijab during a public event held in Bihar’s capital Patna recently.
The protesters gathered at Telangana Chowk in the town and raised slogans condemning Mr. Nitish Kumar’s action, terming it as a “shameless act”.
Addressing the demonstration, the leaders of the women’s wing alleged that Mr. Nitish Kumar brought disrepute to his post by resorting to the “shameless act” while handing over appointment letters to the newly recruited AYUSH doctors at an event in Patna over a week ago. Later, a delegation of the organisation filed a complaint against Mr. Nitish Kumar at the two-town police station in Karimnagar.
