Online betting and gaming cost the life of a youngster in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man died by suicide at his residence in Suraram, allegedly after suffering financial losses linked to online gaming, police said.
The deceased was identified as Ravinder, a resident of the area. According to preliminary findings, he had been heavily involved in online games and slipped into depression after losing money.
Police said Ravinder recorded a selfie video before his death in which he stated that he had lost interest in life and clarified that no one else was responsible for his decision.
After receiving information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for postmortem examination. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
