The Cyberabad Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) registered three cases under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) during a week-long special drive between December 20 and 27, and arrested 10 accused persons, including two sex workers and five transgender persons, apart from rescuing five victims.

The night raids were conducted as part of intensified enforcement against human trafficking and related offences.

During the same period, Cyberabad She Teams carried out 209 decoy operations and caught 51 persons for their involvement in indecent acts at public places. Petty cases were booked in 58 instances, while the remaining offenders were counselled on the spot, police said.

Officials also received 22 complaints from women through various modes during the week. In addition, counselling efforts led to the reunion of 21 families in marital disputes through Family Counselling Centres and Centre for Development and Empowerment of Women (CDEW).

As part of preventive and awareness initiatives, the AHTU and She Teams conducted outreach programmes across multiple locations in Cyberabad, reaching 4,112 participants. The sessions focused on issues such as human and child trafficking, eve-teasing, social media harassment, child marriage, child rights and labour, stalking, begging, cyberbullying and cyber fraud, along with information on emergency helplines and police services, police officials said.
