Hotels, pubs, and restaurants across the city reported strong turnout, with many venues operating at full capacity. New Year’s Eve parties in Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Hitech City, and Gachibowli featured live music, DJs, and special menus, keeping celebrations going well past midnight.“Almost all our tables were booked well before New Year’s Eve,” said a manager of a lounge in Jubilee Hills. “The response this year was better than expected, and the crowd stayed until the end,” she added. While pubs and clubs were buzzing, many residents chose quieter celebrations at home. House parties, karaoke nights, and small gatherings with friends and family were a popular choice.“I didn’t want to step out into the crowds this year,” said Alisha K, a software professional from Madhapur. “We had a small get-together at home with close friends, music, and food. It felt relaxed and personal,” she added. Some residents also hosted private music evenings to welcome the New Year. “We wanted to end the year on a calm note,” said Rishita Yerola, a marketing professional staying in Hitech City. “Good music, good food, and familiar faces felt like the right way to begin 2026,” she added.Police increased security across Hyderabad, deploying additional personnel in high-footfall areas such as Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Tank Bund, Necklace Road, and Khajaguda to ensure a drug-free environment.“On the occasion of the New Year, the EAGLE Force appeals to the citizens, especially the youth, to celebrate responsibly and stay away from drugs, as substance abuse endangers health, future, and society at large. Avoid getting entangled in drug-related activities, which can bring distress to your loved ones. Let’s welcome 2026 with determination and responsibility, ensuring a safer, healthier, and drug-free Telangana,” the task force said in a statement.
