Vijayawada: A series of late-night theft attempts occurred near Undavalli in Guntur, where two miscreants targeted parked two-wheelers in the early hours of Friday. According to police, they forcibly opened the storage compartments of around 15 scooters parked outside houses. While no major valuables were reported stolen, the dicky lids were left open, causing alarm among owners. CCTV footage showed two men moving through the streets around dawn and attempting to break into multiple vehicles. Residents alerted the police immediately after noticing the damage, following which personnel reached the spot and examined the surveillance recordings. Police officials said the suspects were identified based on CCTV evidence and other inputs, and said they will be apprehended soon. A case was registered and a probe is on. TNN
