Jagan Mohan Reddy Plans District Tours Post-Sankranti to Revitalize YSRCP Support | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: Former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to go into the districts to meet people after the Sankranti festival. Jagan, who has been meeting party leaders and cadre at his camp office in Tadepalli, has decided to start field visits to strengthen the party.
After facing a humiliating defeat in the 2024 elections in which YSRCP was confined to just 11 seats in the assembly, Jagan has mostly been raising various issues through media conferences. He is likely to start district visits every Wednesday and Thursday from the third week of January. Jagan, who held a meeting with leaders from undivided Krishna district, criticised the NDA govt in the state for its failures.
Alleging that the state is currently being governed under a ‘Red Book Constitution’, he said systems are collapsing, dissent is being silenced, and false cases are being filed even for forwarding or posting messages criticising the govt. He also expressed concern over the deteriorating conditions in education, healthcare, and agriculture.
“Students are unable to pay college fees due to non-payment of reimbursements, Aarogyasri dues have mounted to Rs 2,200 crore, and ambulances under 108 and 104 services are not functioning. Paddy farmers are forced to sell their produce for Rs 300 less than the MSP, as the govt failed to procure the produce on time,” he alleged.
He told party leaders that people have already started comparing the welfare-driven governance of YSRCP to the failures of the current coalition govt. “My administration never made false promises and always delivered on commitments. In contrast, this govt lured voters with unrealistic promises. People will soon realise the truth and support YSRCP again,” he said, adding that he will start district tours after Sankranti. “I will stay in the constituency and meet party cadre. I will interact with cadre from three constituencies every Wednesday, and four constituencies on Thursdays,” he said.
