District Collector P. Ranjit Basha on Thursday asked the Education Department officials to ensure that every student passes in the Class 10 examinations.
In a review with the Mandal Education officers, headmasters, special officers of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) schools and wardens of welfare hostels, the Collector directed the headmasters not to sanction leaves to teachers for the next three months. He asked the headmasters to cancel leaves, if already given, of teachers who went on leave on personal grounds, and asked them to give long leave only in case of medical emergencies or for a genuine reason.
The Collector interacted with the headmasters of schools where the pass percentage was low in the last academic year and sought to know the steps taken to improve the pass percentage this year.
