VIJAYAWADA: Seven people died, and 15 others were severely injured in a fatal road accident near Nellore on Saturday. The accident occurred when two lorries and a private bus collided near the Kavali toll plaza in Nellore district. The injured were rushed to a local hospital.
The accident took place around 2 am when a lorry collided with a stationary lorry, and a private travel bus coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with the lorry.The front part of the bus was crushed in the incident. Police arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations.
Two lorry drivers, bus driver and four passengers died. The injured were shifted to local hospitals. The death toll is expected to rise. The incident occurred while the private bus was en route from Chennai to Hyderabad.
