Vijayawada: Police registered a case of suspicious death after a 35-year-old man was found dead inside a car parked near Kandulapadu crossroads under Mylavaram mandal in NTR district on Friday night.According to police, on Friday locals first noticed the car parked on the roadside between 11 am and 12 noon. They grew suspicious when the vehicle remained stationary there for hours. Then, they informed the police.The cops rushed to the spot and found a man lying lifeless in the driver’s seat.The deceased was identified as Anneboyina Nagaraju, a native of Maddulaparva village in Reddigudem mandal. He worked as a JCB driver and resided in Velagaleru village with his wife and two daughters for the past few years. The car doors were found unlocked, and initial observations revealed a slight mark the man’s neck. The police have not confirmed the exact cause of his death.The cops reviewed CCTV footage from the nearby areas, which showed two unidentified persons placing Nagaraju in the car and closing the doors before leaving the scene. Based on this footage, the police registered a case of suspicious death under relevant sections, and are conducting further investigation to determine whether Nagaraju died due to suffocation or some other cause.Preliminary inquiries also revealed that Nagaraju travelled to Maddulaparva for work on Thursday. He was in possession of a rental car arranged by the JCB owner from Vijayawada. The car was reportedly parked near a liquor shop. Hence, investigators are exploring multiple angles, including the possibility of foul play.The body was shifted to Mylavaram govt hospital for post-mortem. The police are in the process of identifying the two men captured in the CCTV footage and collecting further evidence to uncover the circumstances leading to Nagaraju’s death.
