Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma expressed sorrow over the pharma unit blast that claimed multiple lives at the Sigachi Industries unit in the Pashamylaram industrial area of Sangareddy district. The blast, which occurred in the morning hours, triggered a wave of condolence messages from political leaders and urgent appeals for accountability.

The Governor conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift recovery to the injured. He also directed M. Dana Kishore, Principal Secretary of Labour, Employment Training and Factories (LETF), to ensure all possible support, including quality medical treatment, is extended to the victims.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) expressed concern over reports that the death toll may rise. “The reasons for the explosion must be investigated thoroughly,” he said, urging the government to provide financial aid to the families of the deceased and injured workers.

Former Health Minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao visited the accident site earlier in the day, where he interacted with district officials, including the Superintendent of Police and the Collector. “Many of the workers here are from other States, and their families are facing immense anxiety. I have asked authorities to set up a control room and share a common helpline number for updates,” he said. He praised the efforts of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in the rescue operations and called for a comprehensive inquiry into the mishap.

In response to the crisis, a control room has been established at the Sangareddy District Collectorate to coordinate assistance and share information with families of the victims. Residents seeking information can contact the helpline at 08455-276155.
