New Delhi, Auto Desk. Aprilia has taken the wraps off its much-awaited motorcycle, the Aprilia RS 457. The new Aprilia RS 457 sits below the Aprilia RS 660 in the company’s lineup and the motorcycle was unveiled at the company’s headquarters in Italy. Interestingly, the RS 457 has been manufactured in India only. Come, let’s know about it.

Aprilia RS 457 engine

The Aprilia RS 457 is powered by a 457 cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, DOHC engine, which draws power from a 4-valve engine tuned for 47 bhp. The motor gets 270-degree connecting rod assembly for the correct exhaust note. The bike promises a great power-to-weight ratio with a curb weight of just 175 kg, while the curb weight is 169 kg.

Design of Aprilia RS 457

Aprilia The design of the RS 457 is heavily inspired by the bigger RS ​​600 and the motorcycle looks to be a part of the manufacturer’s RS family. The bike gets signature LED DRLs, full-LED lighting and a two-in-one underbelly exhaust. Underneath the motorcycle is a new aluminum frame, which the company says has been fabricated at racetracks around the world. The crankcase serves as a load-bearing element, borrowed from the RS 660, allowing for lower weight and better handling.

Specifications of Aprilia RS 457

Suspension duties on the RS 457 are handled by 41mm USD front forks with 120mm of travel and pre-load adjustment. The rear gets pre-load adjustable monoshock and steel swingarm with 130mm of travel. Braking performance comes from the 320 mm front disc with Bybre radial-mounted 4-piston caliper. At the rear, it gets a 220 mm steel disc with a Bybre caliper. Dual-channel ABS with switchable rear ABS is offered as standard.

Key features of Aprilia RS 457

The motorcycle is loaded with a host of electronic equipment including ride-by-wire (RBW) with three riding modes and three-level traction control. Also, this bike comes with 5-inch TFT instrument console, clip-on handlebar and backlit switchgear. The Aprilia RS 457 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres.
