Next December 6 is Mahanati Savitri’s 90th birth anniversary. On this occasion, her daughter Vijaychamundeshwari is organizing Savitri Mahotsav in the name of their mother.
To this generation, Savitri’s life features and her greatness were mostly known through Nag Ashwin’s movie “Mahanati”. That is why the team will be honored on the occasion of Savitri’s 90th birthday.
“We are organizing the 90th birth anniversary celebrations of our Mother Savitri, Mahanati, from December 1st to 6th at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad under the name of ‘Savitri Mahotsav’. Organized in collaboration with the famous art organization “Sangam” Foundation, the festival will include screening of Savitri’s films and song competitions from December 1st to 5th. Savitri’s 90th birth anniversary sabha will be held on December 6th. “Mahanati” director-producers Nag Ashwin, Priyankadutt, Swapnadut Lanoo, Sanjay Kishore, author of ‘Savitri Classics’ and publisher Bollinei Krishnaiah will be specially honored. Former Vice-President of India Venkaiah Naidu will be the chief guest at this meeting, which will be chaired by Buddhaprasad,” said a film celebrity. Vijaychamundeshwari said in the statement.
Born in 1934, Savitri passed away in 1981 at the age of 47.
