The first match of the Super-4 stage of Asia Cup-2023 is being played between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Lahore Gaddafi Stadium. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first.

The team has scored 72 runs for four wickets in 15 overs. Captain Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are at the crease.

Tauheed Hridoy got out after scoring 2 runs. He was bowled by Haris Rauf. Earlier, Mohammad Naim was out on 20, Liton Das on 16 and Mehdi Hasan Miraj was out on 0.

Naseem Shah went out injured
Shaheen Shah bowled the second ball of the 7th over at a speed of 140 km per hour. The ball hit the pad of batsman Naeem and went towards fine leggy. Naseem Shah’s eyes fell on the ball and he ran very fast to his left and dived to stop the ball. He got injured due to the dive. Mohammad Harish came in his place to field. Naseem’s foot touched the rope. Due to which Bangladesh got 4 runs in the form of leg bye.

Powerplay: Bad start for Bangladesh
Bangladesh did not have a good start. The team lost the first wicket on the score of zero. By the end of 10 overs, the team had lost four wickets for 49 runs. Opener Mohammad Naeem was out after scoring 20 runs, last match’s centurion Mehdi Hasan Miraj 0, Liton Das 16 and Tauhid Hridoy were out after scoring 2 runs. Haris Rauf got two wickets. Shaheen and Naseem took one wicket each.

1st: (Mehdi Hasan Miraz- 0 Run): On the first ball of the second over, Mehdi Hasan Miraj was caught out by Naseem Shah at the hands of Fakhar Zaman. Hasan wanted to play a big shot on the straight ball, but due to lack of proper timing, he got caught by Fakhar Zaman at mid-wicket.

Second: (Liton Das- 16 runs): Shaheen Afridi got Liton Das caught by Rizwan on the fifth ball of the 5th over. Naseem Shah wanted to play it safe with the ball coming at a speed of 137 km, but the ball took the outer edge of the bat and went into the hands of Mohammad Rizwan behind the wicket.

Third: (Mohammad Naeem- 20 runs): Haris Rauf was caught and bowled on the third ball of the 8th over.

Fourth: (Tawheed Hridoy- 2 runs) : Haris Rauf bowled the first ball of the 10th over.

Shanto is not playing due to hamstring injury
Tournament top scorer Nazmul Hussain Shanto is not playing in this match because he has a hamstring injury in his left leg.

In such a situation, the responsibility of scoring runs will be on the centurion of the last match Mehdi Hasan Miraj, captain Shakib Al Hasan and wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim.

The fast bowlers of the team are performing well. In the last match, Taskin Ahmed had taken four wickets against Afghanistan on the same ground. Shoriful Islam has also taken three wickets.
