KTM RC 390 rivaling Aprilia RS 457 unveiled!

– Powered by a 457cc liquid-cooled engine

– Features LED illumination, three ride modes and more

– Gets RS660-like design

Aprilia has unveiled its latest supersports offering, the RS457. The bike had been spotted testing multiple times in India and overseas as well. Now that it has been unveiled, here’s everything we know about it.

The Aprilia RS457 mimics the RS660’s design. It features a split LED headlight topped by a small visor integrated into the front fairing. Then there are small ducts below the headlight with fins-like structures on the side fairing. This could be done for better aerodynamics or heat dissipation as well. The RS457 gets a split seat setup and a proper crouched rider triangle.

It’s powered by a 457cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that makes 47bhp and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. It also benefits from rider aids like ABS, three-stage traction control that can also be completely turned off, ride-by-wire, and three ride modes. Then there’s full LED illumination, a TFT screen with optional Bluetooth connectivity and an optional quickshifter as well. For reference, the new RC 390 make 42.9bhp from its 373cc single-cylinder motor.

The RS 457 rides on USD front forks and a monoshock, both adjustable. Then, its braking hardware includes a single front and rear disc mounted on 17-inch wheels. These are wrapped in 110/70 (F) and 150/60 (R) TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres. It tips the scale at 175kg.
