G20 Summit 2023 in Delhi Live Updates (September 10): As the G20 drew to a close and Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the gavel of presidency to the President of Brazil Luiz Inácio da Silva, French President Emmanuel Macron stressed that the New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Declaration confirms the isolation of Russia. Japan PM also weighed in on the conflict and noted that “Russia’s nuclear threat, let alone its use of nuclear weapons is absolutely unacceptable.”
After successfully adopting the New Delhi Leaders’ Declarationworld leaders kicked off today’s programme with a visit to Rajghat to pay tributes at the Mahatma Gandhi memorial, following which US President Joe Biden departed for Vietnam. The other leaders will then attend the third and concluding session of the G20 Summit, called “One Future”, at Bharat Mandapam. Meanwhile, UK PM Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murthy visited the Akshardham temple in New Delhi and paid tributes.
The story so far: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday announced the launch of the India-Middle East-Europe mega economic corridor. The initiative involves India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the European Union, France, Italy, Germany and the US.
