Ganesh Chaturthi Lalbaugcha Raja 2023: Mumbaikars to get their first glimpse of Lalbaugcha Raja on Friday | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: With less that a week left for much-awaited GaneshotsavMumbaikars are set to get first glimpse of famous Lalbaugcha Raja on Friday.
The unveiling of idol will be live-streamed on the official YouTube channel of the mandal at 7pm.
The mandal, which has been in existence for over eight decades, draws devotees from across Maharashtra and even from other states.
The crowd puller idol of Lalbaugcha Raja is carved on site so there is no ‘aagman’ (arrival) procession.
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most celebrated festivals in Maharashtra with Lalbaugcha Raja being one of the famous mandals.
It was founded in 1934 and since then has been witnessing thousands of devotees, including Bollywood celebrities and politicians during the 10-day-long festival.

Often, to pay their respects to lord Ganesha, devotees spend hours in long queues.

This year, the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal has also secured insurance coverage amounting to Rs 26.54 crore from New India Assurance.

This comprehensive policy safeguards against various risks, including fire, theft, accidents, stampedes, acts of terrorism, and even poisoning caused by prasad.

In 2020, due to Covid-19, the Mandal had celebrated ‘Arogya Utsav’ for the devotees with activities such as blood donation camp, plasma donation activities in collaboration with BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
