Axar had suffered a couple of blows while batting against Bangladesh on Friday night and needed medical help on a couple of occasions.

Coming in to bat at number eight, Axar would score 42 runs off 34 deliveries, but fell in the penultimate over as India missed out on a fourth straight win in the ongoing tournament with Bangladesh besting the men in blue by six runs.

The inclusion of Sundar in the squad is unlikely to guarantee his place in the starting XI. Against Bangladesh, Virat KohliHardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj predicted to step back in the lineup, having been rested in the previous Super 4 game.
