Spinners have been Afghanistan’s strong suit over the years. In Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad they have arguably one of the most potent spin attacks in this World Cup.
Thanks to the army of spinners they have in their ranks, they are fancied to cause an upset here and there at the World Cup. But before that, their bowling unit will need some support from the batsmen. In their first match against Bangladesh, a familiar opponent, Afghanistan lost six of their wickets to spinners Shakib al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. And on Wednesday they face hosts India, who have in their ranks three world-class spinners in Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin.
