The political scene in Telangana has taken a huge turn with the ongoing election results, showing a clear shift in power dynamics. The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) party, in control since 2014, is now experiencing a shocking setback in the Telangana Assembly Elections.
The Congress party has managed to topple the BRS, surpassing the halfway mark with a strong lead on 65 seats out of the 119-member Telangana Assembly. On the flip side, the BRS is trailing with only 39 seats, while the BJP, AIMIM, and CPI have secured 9, 5, and 1 seats respectively.
Even KTR, the Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industry & Commerce, ITE&C, acknowledged the defeat.
In a tweet, he expressed gratitude to the people of Telangana for granting the BRS party two consecutive terms in government. Despite his disappointment, KTR sees this setback as a learning experience and promises a strong comeback. He extended congratulations to the Congress party for their victory.
Just last night he posted a tweet where he showed confidence that KTR is winning again and a hat trick of wins is loading for BRS. Within a few hours, he has changed his tune now and has conceded defeat.
In another twist, he satirically quote-tweeted his own post and said that his hat-trick-loading post isn’t going to age well.
According to the latest trends from the Election Commission of India, the Congress has comfortably secured a majority.
