Amazon Fire TV devices get AI Art in the US

At the Devices & Services event in September 2023, Amazon announced AI Art for the Fire TV 4K Max and the Omni QLED Series TV models, a feature that can generate artwork by using voice prompts and harnessing the power of generative AI. Those devices will then allow you to set that artwork as the background or save it in the image gallery.

Well, Amazon has now announced that it is rolling out AI Art in public preview to the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen) and the Fire TV Omni QLED Series TVs in the United States and explained how people can use the new feature. Here’s a step-by-step process on how you can activate the feature on your Fire TV device and all the options it offers.

How to use AI Art on Fire TV?

To use AI Art on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen) and the Fire TV Omni QLED Series TVs, you have to activate Ambient Experience on these devices. There are multiple ways to do that. The easiest one is to short-press the Alexa button on the remote to open the Alexa Shortcuts Panel and then select the Open Ambient Experience option.

Once you do that, the device will introduce you to AI Art and notify you that the feature is in public preview. To use the feature in the current state, select OK. All you have to do then is hold down the Alexa button once again and describe the image that you want AI Art to generate. For example, “Alexa, create a background of a medieval castle on Mars.”

The device will then process the request and come up with four images based on the description. You can further personalize those images “by selecting additional modifiers in a range of artwork styles, such as pixel art, oil painting, watercolor, colored pencil, Cubist, and others.” Amazon hasn’t specified the number of images you can generate.

Set image as background or save it in gallery

After that, you can set any of those images as the background of the device or save it to the Amazon Photos account. You can also provide feedback on an image by giving it a thumbs up or thumbs down. At the moment, Amazon hasn’t announced if it will roll out AI Art to other products and when will roll out the feature in other regions.
