Narcotics Bureau Objects Gaanja Shankar Title

Ganja Shankar

The latest project announced by Mega hero Sai Dharam Tej, titled “Gaanja Shankar” featuring Sreeleela and directed by Sampath Nandi, has hit a shocking halt.

The Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) has raised concerns over the film’s depiction of drug-related activities, urging the makers to alter both the title and storyline to avoid glorification of narcotics.

TSNAB’s notice emphasizes social responsibility in portraying drug use in films, threatening legal action under the NDPS Act if objectionable content isn’t removed.

Specifically, they demand the removal of “ganja” from the title and caution against any depiction of drug consumption.

Many rumors have been floating in the industry and media that the film has been shelved due to budget constraints. But no official confirmation was given by the team.

It remains to be seen how the production team will respond to the notices from the Anti-Narcotics Bureau and whether the film will proceed as planned.

Producer Naga Vamsi, along with Sai Soujanya, is leading the project under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas banners, with Bheems Ceciroleo as the music director.
