The upcoming general elections are witnessing a different approach from TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu, as he has chosen to announce candidates early and resist pressure from senior leaders. For the Mylavaram seat, Vasant Krishnaprasad, a former YSRCP MLA, has been finalized despite having joined TDP only recently. The decision was made by CBN, and TDP leader Achchennaidu discussed it with Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, who is currently in charge of TDP in the region.
For P. Gannavaram seat in Konaseema district, Dalit leader Mahasena Rajesh was initially announced as the TDP candidate but has decided to withdraw due to criticism over controversial comments made in the past. Chandrababu Naidu discussed the situation with Rajesh and expressed regret over the issues faced by him, assuring him of future opportunities.
There are discussions within TDP about fielding a candidate in the Amalapuram assembly seat in alliance with Janasena, with a proposal to allocate P. Gannavaram to Janasena. Senior TDP leaders Kimidi Kala Venkatrao and Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, who were absent from the first list, spoke to Chandrababu, expressing their willingness to contest.
While Kala Venkatrao assured inclusion of everyone in the elections, Somireddy emphasized his fight against pressures from the ruling party in Sarvepalli and requested a chance to contest. Chandrababu mentioned that decisions for Sarvepalli would be made after considering survey results.
