It appears that there is discontent among certain YSRCP MLAs in the Prakasam district who were not given tickets for the constituencies they were representing.
MLA Maddisetty Venugopal, MLA Sudhakar Babu, and MLA Mahidhar Reddy, who were hopeful of being nominated from other constituencies, have been left without options as the final candidate list has been announced by CM Jagan.
It is revealed that senior MLA Mahidhar Reddy is under pressure to disclose his decision. It is reported that some leaders of the party suggested to wait till the last moment.
But Mahidhar Reddy, who realized the situation in advance, also focused on invitations from other parties for some time. At one stage, the party was ready to take him into TDP.
MLA Mahidhar Reddy seems to have anticipated the situation and explored opportunities with other parties, including TDP. However, it seems he has decided against joining TDP and may abstain from the election campaign altogether.
Similarly, MLA Maddisetty Venugopal attempted to secure an MP ticket for Ongole but was unsuccessful. He is now reluctant to support the YSRCP candidate in his constituency, Buchepalli, and has explored options with Jana Sena and TDP, albeit without much success.
To appease MLA Sudhakar Babu, the YSRCP administration offered him the position of Ongolu Lok Sabha Deputy Coordinator, intending to utilize his influence in the Santhanoothala Padu constituency.
However, Sudhakar Babu appears dissatisfied with the party’s decision and may consider joining TDP, along with another prominent YSRCP leader.
Sudhakar Babu has not openly declared support for the YSRCP candidate, Meruga Nagarjuna, and there seems to be a lack of communication between them.
Despite this, Sudhakar Babu has not explicitly instructed his followers to refrain from supporting Nagarjuna’s candidacy.
Overall, the situation highlights dissatisfaction among certain YSRCP MLAs who were not given tickets for the constituencies they hoped to contest from, leading to uncertainty and potential defections from the party.
