Here this Google doodle is shown in an animated way. With this, Google is paying tribute to this free-reed instrument today. The doodle prepared by Google shows the accordion being played. Also, German artists are shown dancing wearing traditional dress. This instrument was patented as a musical instrument about 200 years ago in 1800 i.e. on 23 May 1829. Its name is derived from the German word ‘Akkord’ which means chord. It is associated with a folk musician. This free-reed instrument with bellows has influenced various musical styles including pop, jazz, folk and classical.

The accordion is a portable free-reed musical instrument with a section decorated with piano-style buttons. Initially, the accordion had buttons on only one side. Each of these buttons produced the sound of a whole chord. Another feature in it was that a single button could produce two chords.
