Bandi Saroj Kumar’s Parakramam teaser out

Speaking on the occasion, Director Bandi Saroj Kumar said, “I entered the industry in 2004 as a junior artist. I gave auditions to many directors. They didn’t understand my acting. They found my dialogue delivery too natural. I became a director thinking that I needed a director who knew my acting. I came to know about movie-making when I saw Chiranjeevi on TV as a child. People like Ilaiyaraaja, Sirivennela Sitaramasastry, PC Sreeram, and Srikar Prasad have inspired me. Taking inspiration from all of them, I have been improving my natural talent because I have to be extraordinarily talented to catch the producers. I stayed away from normal life for 20 years. I have done two Tamil films and one Telugu film as a director. All three were disasters. Knowing that I am a failed director, I decided to act myself and did the films ‘Nirbhandam’, ‘Nirbhandam 2’ and ‘Mangalyam’. I put those movies on YouTube. There was a lot of response from all sections of the audience, who supported me with as much money as they were willing to pay. Movie lovers wanted me to do a mainstream movie for the family audience. I made this film with their support and encouragement. I don’t move around much in the industry. Most people don’t like me because I am straightforward. The three people I like in the industry are SKN, Buchi Babu and Vishwak Sen. We are happy to have these three guests at our teaser release event today. SKN is a straightforward, talented producer. His taste is evident in his movies. Buchi Babu is a proven director. He is a good-hearted person. When I met him once, he told me he had sent Rs 5,000 for ‘Mangalyam’. Vishwak Sen also speaks straightforwardly like me. As an actor, he sees me as myself without comparing me to anyone else. We did a Yajna for the movie ‘Parakramam’. Thanks to Vishwak Sen, who supported me at this important juncture. My previous films were limited to certain sections of audience but this movie will be seen by all sections of audience. That’s why I named my banner BSK Mainstream.”

Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen said, “I have been hearing the name of Bandi Saroj Kumar in our circles ever since I was doing animation and editing courses. He did a movie called ‘Porkalam’ in Tamil. The movie did not click but there was a section of audience who loved it. I saw the trailer of Bandi Saroj Kumar’s ‘Nirbandam’ and sent him a message. You want to have a strong voice, I told him. Saroj Kumar has created a movie world of his own. He is continuously making his own kind of films. I am one of those people who want him to grow. The teaser released today is very good. Saroj Kumar performs better as an actor than as a director.”

Director Buchi Babu said, “Prasad worked as DoP for this movie and worked for ‘100% Love’ as well. Since then, he has been my acquaintance. Cinematographer Prasad who received awards for ‘Prem Katha’ and ‘Pournami’ is associated with Saroj’s project. Upendra garu does all the major crafts in Kannada cinema. Likewise, Bandi Saroj Kumar does it in Telugu. It’s amazing how he does so many crafts when direction alone is so difficult. Bandi Saroj Kumar is a cult man. His movie ‘Porkkalam’ is my favorite movie.”

Director Gnanasagar Dwaraka said, “Bandi Saroj Kumar’s movies’ titles are very good. As Vishwak said, Saroj impresses with his performance as an actor. His performance is very genuine. You cannot perform like that unless you are very honest to the character. He lives away from the society like a saint.”

Producer SKN said, “I have a short acquaintance with Bandi Saroj Kumar. A good impression was formed on him. He is a person who is passionate about cinema. Bandi Saroj Kumar’s answers in interviews are so genuine. If he is doing seven or eight crafts, that’s because of his passion and talent. After watching the teaser of the movie ‘Parakramam’, the flame in his heart was seen in every frame. Bandi Saroj Kumar should get good recognition with this movie. I will offer any support he needs for the release and promotion of this film. I have a small suggestion for the Producers Council regarding the exhibition of small films. As small films pick up their potential only from the second and third week onwards, we want a bigger share to be given to the distributor and producer.”

Actress Shruti Samanvi said, “I am a classical dancer who has been awarded at the national level. I played a key role in this movie. I hope this film will bring success to all my team along with me.”
